About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården)

The Transport Department (TA) is tasked with transporting and supervising persons deprived of liberty. This involves moving the Service's clients between remand centers and prisons, to court hearings and hospitals, among other places. TA also transports persons deprived of liberty for, for example, the Police, the National Board of Institutional Care (SiS), the Migration Agency, and psychiatry. Job Description

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service's national transport operations are now looking for a Security Officer for the Transport Safety Section, based at the transport office in Härnösand or Gävle. As a Security Officer at the Transport Department, you will report to a Group Manager who is your immediate supervisor. In your daily work, you will assist prison inspectors at the transport office in leading and developing the section's operations towards established goals with a focus on security. You will also provide advice to transport planners and prison officers regarding assessments in planning and operational security issues concerning the execution of transports. In addition, you may be responsible for one or more national assignments within the transport safety area, which involves some travel and occasional temporary work assignments at one of our other transport offices.

The work is largely operational, where you collaborate with other security functions within the Transport Office and the rest of the Service, but you also work administratively with issues concerning security, standardization of routines, and the training area. The work also involves preparing and presenting cases for the local management group and assisting them in operation-related reporting and analysis.

We are looking for you who have:

• Complete upper secondary education (high school diploma)
• Experience working in state service or the public sector
• Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
• Valid B driver's license

The following are also meritorious:

• Experience working in the security area
• Experience working in a leadership position within transport
• Experience from working within the various branches of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service with good references
