Operating Room Nurse for the Competence Pool – Anaesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care
At Anaesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care (AnOpIVA), we care for patients and families facing critical moments. For some, we are the last hope; for others, we create the opportunity for a better life. Whether you work in the sterile processing department, in our flying operations, on the intensive care unit, or in the operating theatre, you play a crucial role in decisive moments. We invite you to apply and become part of our team.
Our Operations
The Anaesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care unit is a comprehensive and high-tech operation covering a broad spectrum of care needs. Here, we provide anaesthesia and surgical services along with post-operative wards and a sterile processing department. We are also responsible for intensive care and air ambulance services.
For children, we offer specialized care through our pediatric section, which includes pediatric intensive care and the pediatric anaesthesia and surgery department, including a recovery ward.
Within the Anaesthesia and Surgery section (AnOp), we work across four different operating departments within our core area at Uppsala University Hospital. These units are part of the surgery, orthopedics, and operating department assignment (entrance 95/96) as well as pediatric anaesthesia and surgery.
Your Role
As an Operating Room Nurse within our Competence Pool, you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills by working across multiple departments and meeting a wide range of patient categories. An individualized schedule provides the security of knowing when you work, while the variation in workplaces makes each day an exciting challenge. Here, you have the chance to develop your knowledge.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a registered specialist nurse in operating room nursing with at least 8 years of experience. You have broad competence and are confident in your professional role. Experience with medical record systems such as Cosmic, Orbit, and Metavision is advantageous, but your curiosity and ability to adapt to new situations are what we value most.
Your Competencies
You are someone who thrives on variety and has strong collaboration skills. As part of our Competence Pool, you work in several teams and meet new colleagues and patients daily. Therefore, your flexibility and ability to adapt quickly are invaluable. You are accustomed to sorting and prioritizing what is important and can make independent decisions. You are drawn to the challenge of always learning something new and are driven by achieving set goals and requirements.
What We Offer
We offer you a secure permanent position with good benefits – but also a varied, developmental, and challenging job. Here, you have the opportunity for personal development, a flexible work schedule, and a flexibility allowance. We primarily work daytime shifts, but we can also offer evening and weekend shifts with the possibility of individual scheduling.
To ensure you have the best conditions for success in your new role, you will receive an individually tailored induction and education plan. As an employee of Uppsala County Council, you are covered by one of Sweden's best collective agreements and enjoy benefits such as occupational pension, accident insurance, and extra vacation days for those over 40. You also have the opportunity to purchase a UL public transport season ticket at a favorable price and use the Friskhuset gym, where you can participate in group training, physiotherapy, ergonomics, personal training, lectures, massage, and mobility training.
