Your tasks – creating conditions for fossil-free electricity production

As an Analyst in the Electricity Production and Society unit, you work with issues related to electrification and the development of the energy system of the future. The work involves qualified investigations and analyses where you weigh together energy, urban planning, and environmental interests. You conduct both in-depth analyses within specific areas and analyses of more overarching issues regarding the development of the energy system. You analyze energy policy goals and instruments, the development of the electricity market, and external factors affecting the electricity system. A large part of the work consists of producing reports and decision support materials, as well as communicating results and conclusions internally and externally.

Examples of tasks:

• Participate in investigation work.
• Make assessments and provide positions in consultation cases.
• Analyze and describe conditions for different forms of electricity production and how they affect the development of the electricity system.
• Analyze how different regulations are applied and affect electricity production in society.

You will become part of a unit working to create conditions for fossil-free electricity production in society. The work requires curiosity, collaboration skills, and an analytical approach. You see the big picture, consider the broader perspective, and have strong analytical abilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic degree, equivalent to at least three years of full-time studies with a focus on natural sciences, economics, political science, or another area that the Swedish Energy Agency considers relevant. You have an interest in societal issues, especially within energy, environment, or societal development. You analyze and structure information, draw relevant conclusions, and suggest measures. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing, as well as good data skills in modern IT systems.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience in driving assignments or projects, from work, school, or internship.
• Experience in analysis or investigation work, for example from authorities, industry, research institutes, or industry organizations.
• Experience in work with coexistence between energy infrastructure, urban planning, conservation interests, or similar.
• Knowledge of permitting processes within electricity production.

To succeed in the role, you have good communication skills and can represent the agency in various contexts. About us

The Electricity Production and Society unit's main task is to enable electrification through analyses and knowledge about the conditions for fossil-free electricity production in the electricity system and society at large. The unit works with analyses for all different types of electricity production. We collaborate closely with other parts of the agency, other authorities, and external actors.

Good to know

The position is a permanent employment with an initial six-month probationary period. Positions within the Swedish Energy Agency may be placed in a security classification, which means security investigation and register control according to provisions in the Security Protection Act. In the case of permanent employment, war posting in the agency may become relevant.
