Three Waste Collectors Needed for the Collection Unit in Alingsås

More than 180 employees work at the Community Planning Department with infrastructure and environmental protection in our municipality. We are responsible for the planning and operation of building projects, road networks, parking spaces, public areas, parks, waste management, as well as treatment plants and waterworks. Our area of responsibility also includes traffic safety, accessibility, security, and a generally good environment for residents, as well as authority enforcement based on the Environmental Code and food legislation, where supervision and preventive work are in focus.

We are now looking for three new waste collectors for the collection unit! As an employee in the collection unit, you contribute to making everyday life easier for the people of Alingsås. Job Description

Your main tasks will be to handle waste collection and other common tasks within the area. Waste collection takes place in containers using rear-loading garbage trucks. You and your colleagues work together to deliver high service to the residents of Alingsås and contribute to achieving our goals in the waste plan.

As a person, you are service-oriented, orderly, flexible, and have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Since the work involves a lot of collaboration, it is important that you are a team player and understand the importance of good relationships both internally and externally. Due to the nature of the assignment, good physical fitness is also required.

The tasks include, among other things:

• Daily supervision and vehicle inspection
• Answering environmental questions from customers
• Waste inspections and deviation management
• Supporting other parts of the operations as needed

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• High school education
• Category C driver's license
• Professional competence certificate (YKB)

We believe you are a confident and responsible person with a professional attitude. You are flexible and adapt easily when the workday or conditions change. You have a good demeanor and are service-oriented in meetings with municipal residents, colleagues, and others you collaborate with.

Employment type: Permanent.
