Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago, combining the quiet beauty of nature with a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not just one but many: schools, properties, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, elderly care, and many more. We work to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who make the dream of a vibrant, secure environment for home, family, and business possible.

To succeed fully, we need diverse competencies and must work together to build a common and trust-based work culture, built on courageous, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.

Our Operations

The Implementation Unit is responsible for the design, procurement, and expansion of the municipality's public facilities and community buildings. We monitor implementation issues during the detailed planning phase and the expansion phase. We are responsible for ensuring that the municipality's investments are carried out in an efficient and sustainable manner. When construction is complete, we ensure a proper handover to our colleagues responsible for ongoing maintenance and management.

We are currently driving several exciting and complex projects, with the Gustavsberg project – involving the planning of several thousand new homes – being one of the largest. Here, among other things, the development of Gustavsberg center is underway, along with several other strategic sub-projects.

Your Role

You follow projects through the entire process – from early planning and design to implementation and handover to management. Your responsibility is to ensure that projects are executed with the right quality, within budget, and according to the municipality's goals and requirements. A key part of the role is also to ensure good communication both before and during the construction phase.

You lead all stages of the construction process, procure and follow up on consultants and contractors, prepare and manage the project budget, and ensure that working environment and quality are maintained at all levels. A key part of the role is to create good collaboration between the municipality's various competencies and external parties.

You work in close cooperation – often in project form – with urban planners, water and wastewater engineers, landscape architects, ecologists, municipal archaeologists, project controllers, and traffic engineers, as well as in dialogue with developers and contractors. The role reports to the Head of the Implementation Unit.

Your Experience

You have a university degree or equivalent, preferably with a focus on community planning, engineering, environment, or a similar field. Alternatively, you have education and experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have experience with infrastructure projects in the production/implementation phase and good knowledge of AB/ABT, AMA, MER Anläggning. You have good economic understanding and experience with forecasting and cost control, as well as experience in working environment issues, contract law, and public procurement (LOU).

You have a good understanding of municipal decision-making processes, legislation, and steering documents that affect community planning projects.

You have experience with the detailed planning process and can assess the technical and economic prerequisites of projects from a municipal holistic perspective.

Personal Qualities

You are confident in the client role and accustomed to leading and coordinating projects from early stages to implementation. You have a structured approach, a good understanding of municipal processes, and the ability to balance technology, economics, and operational benefits.

You are flexible, communicative, and relationship-building – qualities that enable you to create good collaboration with internal operations, political representatives, as well as external contractors and consultants.

As a project manager, you easily lift your gaze to see the big picture, and you enjoy leading others towards common goals. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to make decisions even in complex situations.

You find it easy to structure and prioritize, even when driving multiple projects in parallel, and you are motivated by creating order, progress, and results.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Application

Interviews are conducted continuously, so apply today.

Värmdö Municipality offers health care benefits, an SL card against net salary deduction, and the option to exchange vacation days for extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours.

We strive for an even gender distribution and see diversity as a strength, welcoming applicants from different backgrounds.
