About the Role

Do you want to work with issues ranging from surveillance of infectious diseases to education, counseling, and public health work? Then the position of Infection Control Nurse might be for you.

Infection Control Västernorrland plans, organizes, and leads the regional infection control work. We work to prevent and limit the spread of infectious diseases among humans, monitor the infection situation in the county, and provide advice and support to healthcare, authorities, organizations, and the public. We also coordinate the region's work against antibiotic resistance and work strategically with vaccinations and preparedness for epidemics and pandemics. Our operations are regulated by the Infectious Diseases Act. We are now looking for another Infection Control Nurse to join our team.

As an Infection Control Nurse, you work both independently and together with infection control physicians, infection control nurses, infection control administrators, and pharmacists. The job offers good opportunities for professional development, further education, and taking initiative. You will have a central role in a socially important mission with many contact points both regionally and nationally. We have nice office facilities at Sundsvall Hospital, but the work is region-wide. Travel for meetings and training is included in the position.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with start date as agreed.

Responsibilities

• Follow and analyze the epidemiological situation for notifiable diseases
• Conduct investigations and carry out infection prevention work
• Handle cases, official duties, and outbreaks of infectious diseases
• Inform, educate, and advise the public, healthcare, other authorities, and organizations
• Collaborate with healthcare, municipalities, the County Administrative Board, other regional infection controls, and the Public Health Agency of Sweden

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who

• Is a registered nurse
• Has experience working as a nurse
• Has good computer skills and proficiency in the Office package
• Has very good knowledge of Swedish corresponding to level C1 according to CEFR
• Has good knowledge of English in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you

• Have specialized education in a relevant area, for example as a district nurse, infectious disease nurse, or pediatric nurse
• Have work experience or education in infectious diseases, infection control, public health, epidemiology, or infection prevention and control
• Have experience working with research or quality improvement
• Have experience in pedagogical work and teaching
