The Swedish Armed Forces is looking for two Fiber Technicians with installation experience to join the Implementation Department IT in Enköping to strengthen our important and competent team.
As a fiber technician in a defense environment, you work with critical infrastructure that must never stop. You will largely work independently in your role, which requires you to be a driven person capable of making independent decisions and taking great responsibility. Your role is often part of various projects, meaning you need to be comfortable working in a project format and contribute your expertise to ensure the project is completed as successfully as possible. You will belong to a section that primarily works with IT infrastructure within Enköping Garrison but also across the entire Military Region Central.
We also welcome applicants without previous experience in the Swedish Armed Forces.
About the Operations
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Corps (FMTIS) has a collective responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of all command support systems in the Swedish Armed Forces. FMTIS operates continuously in peace, crisis, and war, meaning the corps is constantly deployed both nationally and internationally. The corps has more than 2,000 employees spread across more than 30 locations in the country.
Main Responsibilities:
- Installation and termination of fiber and copper cables
- Fiber splicing, OTDR measurement, and documentation
- Contact with customers, project managers, and other technicians
- Ensure installations meet high technical and visual standards
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in fiber installation, splicing, and measurement
- Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission)

It is an advantage if you have:
- Worked in the Swedish Armed Forces or the Total Defence
- Are a certified fiber technician
- Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' IT infrastructure
- Experience working in project formats
- Experience working within IT

The work is varied and involves travel within the unit's area of responsibility. The work is primarily performed at the Swedish Armed Forces' premises in Enköping.
