Meal Service is our youngest operation within Nyköping Municipality but at the same time one of our most important initiatives and investments. Meal Service is responsible for meal operations in schools, preschools, and elderly care. Our vision is to create Sweden's best Meal Service for our diners, and we achieve this through excellent service as well as good, sustainable, and healthy meals!

Meal Service handles approximately 70 kitchens and delivers around 10,000 portions daily with the help of our 170 employees, including chefs and meal assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At Meal Service, you get the opportunity to be part of the journey towards Sweden's best public meal operation! Here you cook meals for the world's most important diners, namely children, young people, and the elderly. You contribute to serving good, sustainable, and healthy meals every day, following the diet policy and Meal Service guidelines. You work based on good kitchen economics where high quality and the diner are in focus.

At Meal Service, you work during the day and have the opportunity for competence development through internal training in food hygiene, special diets and allergies, environmentally smart food, and much more.

Your duties include cooking, serving meals, daily meetings with diners, daily reporting, handling kitchen machinery, dishwashing, cleaning, and salad preparation. You are involved in planning and purchasing and work to reduce food waste at all levels and follow existing routines. You will work independently and in a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have:

• Chef training or experience that the employer considers equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish regarding speech, writing, and reading comprehension (as one handles special diets, recipes, etc.)
• Good computer skills

We view it positively if you have:

• Worked in a restaurant or large kitchen
• Experience with meals in public operations
• Driver's license and access to a car
