At our kitchen at Ängetskolan, we prepare and serve meals in our dining halls as well as for preschools and schools in the surrounding area. Responsibilities

As a cook, you will work with meal preparation, salad prep, line service, inventory management, dishwashing, and cleaning. The role also includes administrative tasks such as recipe management, documentation, and ordering via web or cost data programs.

We work according to self-control principles with clear routines, procedures, and checklists. Our collaborative approach of covering for each other in the kitchen means you should also be able to work in other kitchens within the area. As a team member, you will be part of a friendly and cheerful group, reporting directly to the kitchen unit manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience working as a cook in a large-scale kitchen. Since we prepare a wide variety of meals and special dietary options, we would prefer that you have knowledge and prior experience with special diet preparation. A formal chef/cook education is a plus.

You should be passionate about working with food and people, be engaged, responsible, flexible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team, even during high-pressure periods.

As we operate in a dynamic environment, we value a development-oriented approach in both practical kitchen work and the various systems and tools we use. The role requires good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, to ensure smooth operations and communication with colleagues, diners, suppliers, and others.

The Consulting and Service Administration provides support and services to our departments in the areas of property, operations and maintenance, catering, IT, and administrative support services.

As part of the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license plus a certificate of residence from the Swedish Tax Agency, or another ID document that verifies citizenship. For some positions, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal record register are required. We welcome proficiency in Finnish and/or any of the Sami languages, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

Several positions in our municipality are classified for security purposes, which may require a security clearance. These roles may require Swedish citizenship.
