Head Greenkeeper for Finspångs Golf Club
Do you want to take a key role in the development of a golf facility with high ambitions, a strong club spirit, and great engagement? Finspångs Golf Club is now looking for a Head Greenkeeper who wants to lead the course operations forward and contribute to a first-class golf experience for members, guests, and employees.
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the quality, long-term development, and daily operations of the course. You will lead the course organization, drive improvement work, and collaborate closely with the club manager, board, facilities committee, and other staff to create a well-maintained, attractive, and sustainable facility.
About the Role
As Head Greenkeeper, you are responsible for the maintenance, development, and operation of the golf course as well as the club's other green areas. You plan, prioritize, and follow up on daily work, while ensuring that resources, machinery, budgets, and working methods are used in an efficient and long-term sustainable manner.
This position is suitable for you who enjoy combining operational course work with leadership, planning, and development. You are present in everyday life, clear in your communication, and have the ability to create structure, engagement, and momentum within the team.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and distribute work within the course organization.
- Responsible for recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of course staff.
- Develop, implement, and follow up maintenance plans for the entire facility.
- Ensure that the golf course maintains high quality throughout the season and develops in line with the club's ambitions.
- Responsible for budget, cost monitoring, purchasing, and prioritization within the course department.
- Plan and implement development and investment projects on the course and facility.
- Responsible for machinery, irrigation systems, and technical installations.
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with current laws, regulations, occupational health and safety requirements, and environmental requirements.
- Communicate course status, planned actions, and ongoing improvements to members and guests.
We are looking for someone who
- Has documented experience in golf course maintenance and a good understanding of what is required to create high playing quality.
- Has experience in supervision, personnel responsibility, and developing teams.
- Has good knowledge of grass biology, plant nutrition, irrigation, and practical course maintenance.
- Is a clear, present, and engaged leader who creates participation and accountability.
- Works in a structured, solution-oriented manner with good planning skills.
- Has good administrative skills and experience with budget work, follow-up, and purchasing.
- Has a valid B driving license.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Education in golf course maintenance, green space management, or a corresponding field.
- Experience as Head Greenkeeper or Assistant Head Greenkeeper.
- Experience in project management, investment planning, and long-term development work.
- Education in occupational health, leadership, or personnel management.
- Authorization for plant protection products.
