About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

Job Description

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides certain outpatient healthcare services, which means that all prisons and remand prisons have healthcare clinics where inmates can seek care. At the clinics, in addition to nurses, there are also general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, but you also assess which applicants should see a doctor. This means that you work with both somatic and psychiatric healthcare for the inmates, assist at the doctor's clinic, and administer medication primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in the PMO patient data journal.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and has self-awareness. You find it easy to cooperate with other people and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you are calm, stable, and controlled. You have great integrity and the ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. You are quality-conscious and meticulous, and have the ability to structure your approach yourself and drive your processes forward.

To thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that humans are capable of development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute with your attitude to ensure that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Registered Nurse license
• Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
• Category B driver's license

The following are also meritorious:

• A specialization or further education relevant to the employer, for example within psychiatry, emergency care, or outpatient care
• Work experience in the profession
• Relevant language skills
