Description

The Culture and Leisure Administration in Vänersborg has approximately 100 employees who together constitute the operations of libraries, music and culture schools, sports facilities, public events, children's and youth culture, open meeting places for young people, and art halls. The administration values that all units work together based on the best interests of the residents and values such as social cohesion, democracy, and public health.

We are now looking for an engaged caretaker who wants to become an important part of our team and contribute to the development and smooth operation of our sports facilities.

Job Responsibilities

As a caretaker with us, you work with the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's sports facilities. The work is varied and includes practical, technical, and service-oriented tasks.

You will work with, among other things:

• Operation and supervision of sports halls, ice rinks, arenas, and football facilities.
• Ice laying, ice care, and operating ice resurfacing machines.
• Maintenance of natural grass and artificial turf fields.
• Tractor work and use of various machinery. Simpler repairs and maintenance work.
• Building inspection, fault remediation, and patrols.
• Cleaning and preparation for matches, training sessions, and events.
• Contact with clubs, schools, visitors, and organizers.
• Work with security, locking, alarms, and evacuation routines.

No day is the same as the other. Sometimes it is about preparing a football field for a match, sometimes about spraying ice, solving a technical problem, or helping a club carry out an event.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Upper secondary education.
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Basic computer skills.

Merits

• Experience working in sports facilities, property management, or similar operations.
• Experience with machinery.
• Experience with green area maintenance or work with football fields.
• Experience with shift work.

Working Hours

From August to April, the operations are conducted in shifts where you are part of a team of three. The work includes day, evening, and weekend duties, with work every third weekend. During the summer season, the work is mainly during daytime.

For those who have previously worked shifts and enjoy this form of work, it is an advantage.

Other Information

The unit manager and contact person will be back in week 31 to answer any questions.
