The Care and Elderly Services Department in Borås Municipality works towards the goal that both younger and older residents who need care, support, and services, as well as health and medical care and preventive health work, should have a good life every day. About the Unit

We at Sörmarksgatan 207 are a wonderful team consisting of assistant nurses, care assistants, managers, and coordinators. Here, men and women with different backgrounds work together, enriching our operations and broadening our competence. With joy in work, collegial support, and team spirit, we develop our operations together.

The short-stay unit at Sörmarksgatan 207 has 44 places and receives individuals with somatic illnesses, rehabilitation needs, cognitive impairment, and those with extensive care needs and/or palliative care. You and your colleagues in the team, consisting of an assistant nurse, nurse, occupational therapist, and physiotherapist, work cross-professionally to achieve the individual's goals during the short stay.

A short stay is a needs-assessed support according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Persons with Functional Impairments. Decisions regarding short stays are always time-limited and are followed up continuously during the stay.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who are trained as an assistant nurse and have good experience in care and elderly services. We see that you want to continue developing in your professional role as we offer varied and stimulating work.

You provide personal care and perform health and medical interventions on delegation. The work includes care and palliative care, rapid medical assessments, and treatments. You handle medical equipment and advanced care. You perform daily documentation according to the Social Services Act and the Health and Medical Services Act, as well as develop implementation plans. Documentation takes place in the operational system VIVA.

Working hours: days, evenings, and weekends.

The work is varied and requires flexibility as you must be able to work independently as well as in a group and always be ready to rethink and prioritize.

Qualifications

You who apply have completed a three-year nursing program or equivalent education. You have a genuine interest in care and support work and are open to change so that we can continue to develop the operations together.

Basic computer skills are required, as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. We place great importance on personal suitability and see flexibility, cooperation, and good customer service as important qualities.

Probationary employment may be considered upon hiring.

From July 1, 2023, 'assistant nurse' is a protected professional title. This means that a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title assistant nurse. If you have care assistant training, you will be hired as a care assistant.
