We are looking for a Third Officer for the vessel Way Forward

We at Wallenius Marine are now looking for a Third Officer for the vessel Way Forward. Way Forward is a PCC vessel operating in Europe and North America, with a great team onboard. The vessel operates on charter for Volkswagen.

About the role

The role of Third Officer onboard Way Forward is developmental, varied, and a perfect step to join us at Wallenius Marine. You will work closely with the other deck officers and be responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality onboard.

In this role, you will have varied tasks, such as:

• Navigation
• Bridge Watchkeeping
• Responsibility for life-saving appliances and certain fire-fighting equipment
• Focus on safety aspects onboard
• Supporting cargo and port operations
• Administrative tasks such as keeping logs and updating inventory lists
• Safety induction for new crew members

Both Filipino and Swedish crew work onboard Way Forward. As we have a mixed crew, English is spoken onboard.

Conditions

• The position is a permanent employment, starting with a standard probation period.
• Contract length: approx. 8 weeks.
• Start date by agreement. The position may be filled before the application deadline.

Requirements

The requirements for the position are:

• Qualification as Third Officer.
• Valid certificates and documents for the position in accordance with STCW Manila.
• Good knowledge of English – ability to express yourself in both speech and writing.

Desirable qualifications and personal qualities

It is desirable if you:

• Have previous experience from similar Ro-Ro vessels.
• Have work experience in the role of Third Officer previously.
