Your future workplace
The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for you who want to work with supervision of felling notifications. We are looking for 1 forest consultant for the Northern Jämtland district, where you will be part of the Jämtland Supervision Team. The work is primarily within the county but can take place across the entire northern region. You will be stationed at one of the district's offices; see current locations further down in the advertisement.
As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks, as well as ongoing competence development.
Job Description
You will initially primarily work with the processing of felling notifications and supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. The tasks are performed mainly at the office, but field work is also involved. The work involves contact with forest owners, other actors within forestry, and relevant authorities and organizations. As an employee at the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.
Depending on your competence, focus, and the needs of the operation, other work may also become relevant.
Qualifications
The position requires that you have a university degree in forestry or alternatively another relevant education with accompanying experience in our area of work. Relevant work experience is meritorious. We would like you to have experience of both forest production and forest nature conservation issues. Experience of public authority operations, knowledge of species in forest environments, the Administrative Procedure Act, and nature value assessments are meritorious, as are experience and knowledge in the legal field. We value good knowledge of IT/GIS.
We place great importance on your personal qualities. You should be flexible, easy to collaborate with others in the group, outgoing, accustomed to working independently, and have a good sense of order. Teamwork skills and the ability to conduct dialogue externally with forest owners and forestry officials in a pedagogical manner are important qualities. You should have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
A driver's license for cars is a requirement.
Conditions
We offer a permanent position at 100% starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Start date by agreement.
The stationing location is at one of the district's offices in Järpen, Strömsund, or Östersund.
During week 31, there is no manager in service who can answer questions, but please use email and they will get back to you as soon as possible with an answer.
