We are now building the organization for the new fossil-free steel plant. We are looking for an electrical engineer within the Cold Flow and Maintenance department. A key part of your work will be to build up not only your own role but also the roles of many of our future positions, as well as the design of our new facilities. You will serve as a crucial contact point between the operations organization and the Transformation Office, and in some cases with equipment suppliers.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will remain so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries emitting the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and have committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be vital in realizing this goal and thereby contributing to a green transition of the entire steel industry.
About the role
You will:
- Design future operation and maintenance instructions based on process maps: Here you will have the opportunity to help create structures and routines that will shape our operations moving forward.
- Identify competence needs and, together with SSAB Academy, design and implement training initiatives: You will play a key role in developing our employees' competencies and ensuring we have the right knowledge to meet future challenges.
- Participate in, document, and design manuals and instructions: Your contribution will be crucial in ensuring our processes are well-documented and that our employees have access to clear and useful instructions.
- Be involved in the construction of the new facility and commissioning: You will have the chance to be there from the start and see how our new facilities take shape, as well as participate in getting them up and running.
- Be a key player as a supervisor and mentor to future colleagues regarding both technical equipment and the handling of the new process equipment: You will have a central role in supporting and guiding new colleagues, giving you the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience.
This role offers a range of development opportunities:
- Professional development: By working with different departments and projects, you will gain broad experience and the opportunity to develop your skills in several areas.
- Personal development: You will have the opportunity to take responsibility and drive projects forward, which will strengthen your ability to lead and take initiative.
- Mentorship and supervision: As a mentor and supervisor for new colleagues, you will develop your leadership skills and have the opportunity to share your knowledge.
- Networking: By being a key contact point between different departments and external suppliers, you will build a strong network within and outside the company.
- Technical knowledge: You will have the chance to learn a great deal of technology from the ground up, giving you a solid foundation to build upon in your career.
About you
- Take the chance to develop both yourself and others. We are looking for an electrical engineer with natural leadership qualities.
