Job Responsibilities
As a cook in Kumla Municipality's meal service, you will become part of an engaged team in one of our larger production kitchens. Here, several cooks and meal assistants work together, where collaboration, good communication, and shared responsibility are a natural part of everyday life. Together, you plan, distribute, and carry out the daily work to serve delicious and nutritious meals to our guests every day.
The work is varied and involves rotating between different stations in the kitchen, such as the hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and special diet section, together with your colleagues. Rotation between stations creates variety in the work, strengthens collaboration, and contributes to a flexible operation where you support each other based on operational needs.
As a cook with us, you will have a varied job where you are responsible for ensuring the food is delicious and nutritious, while also making good choices related to the environment and economy. Your responsibilities also include:
- Menu planning
- Ordering
- Craft-style cooking in both hot and cold kitchens
- Preparation of special diets
- Good service and professional interaction
- Follow-up of HACCP and self-control programs
As well as all other common kitchen tasks such as dishwashing, cleaning, and receiving goods.
For us, it is important to help each other when needed, and it may happen that we need to go and help out in a kitchen other than our regular one.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a trained cook, and we would appreciate that you have a few years of experience in the profession. You need to have experience handling allergens and preparing special diets, and we want you to have experience with ordering. Orders are made via computer, so you need to be comfortable using both a computer and the Office suite.
We also believe that you love good food and enjoy developing yourself in the kitchen and your cooking, while being service-oriented and putting guests first. You are likely good at keeping your cool even in stressful situations and have the ability to step up if needed. Through good communication and teamwork, you contribute to a great atmosphere at work where we get things done. You need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, as you will often read and write instructions regarding menus, recipes, self-control, and special diets. Since the work is physically demanding, it is important that you have good health, mobility, and basic physical fitness.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
We will ask you for an extract from the criminal record.
Welcome to a really great workplace!
