Safety Material Technician at the Transport Flight Squadron

The Transport Flight Squadron is the unit that provides tactical transport aviation with the Tp84 aircraft (C-130 Hercules) both nationally and internationally. Our task is to transport material and personnel, perform air-borne supply, and tactical air transport.
The main task of the Transport Flight Company is to create conditions for flying with the TP84 (C-130H) by conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on the flight system. The company is also responsible for carrying out its own material and vehicle service, component maintenance, safety material service, store service, and ramp service for the company and the squadron. We are now looking for a Safety Material Technician for the Transport Flight Company.
Main Responsibilities
The work as a Safety Material Technician involves, together with the rest of the group:
- Carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on flight safety-affecting crew equipment and material such as life rafts, parachutes, oxygen masks, flight helmets, etc.
- Planning, preparation, and execution of forward maintenance on type-specific base and flight material.
- Ordering external repair resources for type-specific base and flight material.
- Participating in the squadron's exercises and operations.
Qualifications
- Category B driver's license
- Swedish citizenship
- Meets requirements according to FM FYSS
- Fit for service assessment at statutory health examination according to AFS 2014:43 (hard plastic examination) conducted at Såtenäs upon employment.
- Approved security clearance
Merits
- Experience in technical work in the Swedish Armed Forces
- Knowledge of FM common data systems and data systems within material service (e.g., PRIO, LIFT, and FENIX)
- Category C civilian driver's license / Military qualification for heavy trucks
- ADR training
- Previous work with flight material or sewing service
Personal Attributes
We are looking for you with good teamwork skills, who is careful and unpretentious. You should be able to work both independently and in a group, in a home environment as well as during operations.
We will place great emphasis on personal attributes such as cooperation, flexibility, orderliness, and service attitude. We also see that you have good communication skills and can express yourself well in speech and writing and have good knowledge of Swedish and English. You should be a good representative of the Swedish Armed Forces and stand behind the Armed Forces' value base.

Skaraborg Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here we have combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aviation. We conduct basic and occupational training for conscript recruits as well as training all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many operations. In Sweden, the operations are located at Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand as well as for the Swedish personnel at the international transport aviation cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
