We are now looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager who wants to drive digital development within the Stockholm County Council's Healthcare Services (SLSO), as well as lead and drive business perspectives from a need to finished and operational functionality.

Stockholm County Council's Healthcare Services (SLSO) provides healthcare for the residents of Region Stockholm and is responsible for IT services that support the care work.

SLSO is part of Region Stockholm. The position is located at Torsplan under Business Support Digital Services, the Systems and Technology unit.

About the Role

As a Technical Project Manager here, you are responsible for planning, leading, and monitoring projects within technology and IT that result in improved conditions for the region's core activities, primarily within healthcare. You drive projects efficiently from early ideas through feasibility studies to implementation, training, handover, and established utility in operations. You are also responsible for the project's risk management and budget.

You work closely with the IT organization and act as a central link between operations, technical solutions, and external suppliers.

You are expected to have a strong technical understanding, be able to drive change in large organizations, and have experience managing dependencies between several technical areas. A very good ability to act as a bridge between operations and technology is fundamental to you as a person. Your ability to compile decision support materials, presentations, as well as structure and conduct steering group meetings with leaders and senior management is very important.

Examples of Tasks

  • Plan, lead, coordinate, and administer the project through all project phases.
  • Achieve the project's objectives and sub-goals in accordance with the agreed schedule and budget.
  • Anchoring the project within the organization.
  • Hand over project deliverables to the designated maintenance organization.
  • Support project owners/commissioners in developing project directives and necessary documentation according to SLSO guidelines and steering/project models.
  • Drive activities and continuously report progress and risks to the steering group.
  • Be responsible for the project's budget and resource allocation.
  • Communicate effectively with management, technical teams, and external suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Relevant academic education or equivalent competencies acquired through other training combined with long and relevant work experience.
  • More than 5 years of leadership experience in program or project management or change management.
  • Experience with large organizations or corporations.
  • Experience driving change.
  • Experience with project methodology (e.g., Projektil, PMI, Prince2, PPS, or similar).
  • Good ability to communicate both orally and in writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in the public sector.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector.

In patient-facing work within Stockholm County Council's Healthcare Services:

  • A register check is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register checks upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
  • Requires, in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirement is guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
