About the company
Saferoad Smekab AB is located in Önnestad outside Kristianstad and has been developing and manufacturing sustainable and high-quality steel products across various business areas since 1961. The largest market is under the brand Saferoad Citylife, which offers a broad product portfolio for urban outdoor environments; from railing and barrier solutions for safer streets and squares, to trash cans, bike racks, and furniture. With Scandinavian design, high quality and functionality, expertise, and craftsmanship, they create solutions that last for generations. Combined with their own manufacturing of standardized product series as well as custom-made solutions, Saferoad Citylife is today a leading player and trusted partner to its customers on a growing number of markets. The company has a turnover of approx. 200 MSEK and over 100 employees. A strategically important step is now being taken to meet future demands for quality, capacity, and sustainable production, with the construction of a modern and technologically advanced hot-dip galvanizing plant in Önnestad starting in 2026. The company is part of Saferoad Group, one of Europe's leading players in road safety, with a turnover of approx. 8 billion NOK and approx. 3,000 employees in 14 countries. We are now looking for a Maintenance Technician for our production facility in Önnestad outside Kristianstad. We collaborate with Wikan Personal in this recruitment process.
Your responsibilities
Together with your colleagues in the maintenance department, you will work with both preventive and corrective maintenance on our production equipment. You will contribute to developing preventive maintenance work and work with continuous improvements that help streamline Saferoad Smekab's production processes and flows. Both preventive and corrective maintenance aim to minimize production stoppages and ensure a safe and secure workplace. Troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment can involve everything from mechanics, automation, electricity, welding, and sheet metal, as well as hydraulics and pneumatics. Tasks are performed independently or in small teams, while maintaining close dialogue with the company's operators/shift leaders within welding and sheet metal processing, hot-dip galvanizing/assembly, and logistics.
Your background/Personal qualities
You who apply for this position likely have a background as a maintenance technician in the process or manufacturing industry. Your education should be in industrial or mechanical engineering, or alternatively focused on electricity or automation. You have experience with mechanics, hydraulics, and machine troubleshooting. We prefer that you have several years of experience in similar tasks and possess knowledge of working according to LEAN principles. We assume you have good computer skills and a valid driver's license (Category B). A forklift license is an advantage, as is previous experience working in a maintenance system. As a person, you are service-oriented and passionate about problem-solving. You have a solid interest in machinery and technology and enjoy a varied and sometimes unpredictable daily routine. You have a good sense of order and take pride in performing your tasks with high quality. You thrive in a team environment and want to contribute to a positive work climate.
