Markverkstad Öst is a department within the Markverkstad Unit, with approximately 80 employees, operating in Eksjö, Linköping, and Kvarn. We perform maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' materiel across all branches of the military. This includes maintenance in the form of supervision, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scraping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and materiel inspection. The Markverkstad Unit delivers services according to customer requirements.
The workshop holds an INCERT certificate for refrigeration and is certified for ISO 9001 and pressure testing according to ISO 17020.
Main Responsibilities
As a welder and mechanic, your main tasks will involve design, manufacturing, repair, and maintenance, as well as various other tasks on the Swedish Armed Forces' materiel and materiel systems, such as vehicles and communication equipment. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modification, new production, and reconstruction based on established specifications.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- At least a completed two- or three-year upper secondary education in workshop technology or mechanical engineering, or equivalent education. Competence acquired through professional experience assessed as equivalent by the employer is also accepted.
- Experience from workshop-related work, preferably as a welder/mechanic, or alternative experience assessed as equivalent by the employer.
- Computer skills, as we work with digital platforms for troubleshooting, documentation, time tracking, and workshop production.
- Driver's license, class B (manual) at minimum.

As a welder and mechanic, you are structured, decisive, and make correct assessments and prioritizations. We are looking for someone who is meticulous and well aware of goals and quality standards. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily shift your focus and adapt to a changing environment.

Merits
- Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and materiel maintenance in the Swedish Armed Forces.
- Valid welding test certificates in relevant methods, such as 131/135, 136/138, 141, and 111.
- Knowledge of machining (turning/milling).
- Forklift or wheel loader training.
- Crane training.
- Knowledge of WPS reading.

Employment type: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Employment level: Full-time, daytime hours.
Work location: Eksjö.
Start date: As agreed.
The work also involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international.
The position is a civilian appointment.
