Job Responsibilities

As a reception nurse with us, you will become a central part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, and medical secretaries. The work is varied and requires both independence and close collaboration with colleagues. In your role, you meet patients during clinic visits and treatments, receive and assess phone calls, and serve as an important support for both patients and relatives. You are responsible for planning and conducting various urological investigations and also participate in minor procedures and interventions. Variation and responsibility are a natural part of the workday, and you will have the opportunity to develop your competence within a broad area of practice.

About the Workplace

The Urology Clinic is a surgical unit with both planned and emergency operations and has a clear specialization within urology. The clinic consists of approximately 70 employees and is responsible for urological care throughout the county, with operations in Västerås, Köping, and Fagersta. At the Urology Clinic, highly specialized outpatient urology is conducted where we receive both new patients and follow-up visits. Here, we work with a comprehensive range of care extending from urological investigations involving the prostate, kidneys, and bladder. To treatment of cancer diseases, hydrocele problems, urinary retention, and various types of injection and shock wave treatments as well as bladder installations. Cystoscopies and minor surgeries are also performed regularly.

The staff has significant influence over the operations and are encouraged to take responsibility for development and improvements, which means we are constantly working to improve our ways of working. The clinic also has its own ward with both elective and emergency care, where good collaboration exists and there is an opportunity to rotate between the clinic and the ward.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with experience from clinic/reception activities. If you have worked within urology or with cancer patients, it is meritorious.

You are a secure and stable person with personal maturity and a structured work approach. You can prioritize and take responsibility for planning your work efficiently. You are clear in your communication and ensure that messages reach patients, relatives, and colleagues. Furthermore, you are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and have good empathetic ability. You collaborate well with others and contribute to a positive work climate, while also being able to work independently. We value a solution-oriented approach and would appreciate it if you contribute ideas and new perspectives. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
