Your Role

Do you want to lead an organization where creativity, quality, and development go hand in hand? We are now looking for a Director of Cultural School who wants to take a holistic approach to a broad and dynamic operation – while simultaneously making a real difference for children and young people.

This is a role for you who want to combine strategic leadership with operational development. As the Director of Cultural School, you have overall responsibility for the quality, results, and development of the operation.

You have personnel and budget responsibility and lead an engaged team of 16 employees. You create the conditions for a good working environment and a continuously developing operation. The assignment also includes planning, follow-up, and resource allocation, with a focus on sustainable working methods and long-term development. You build collaboration both internally and externally.

The position is 70% full-time, with the possibility of shaping the remaining 30% based on your competence and ambition in dialogue with us.

Description of the Workplace

The Cultural School in Söderhamn offers children and young people a broad and varied education in music, dance, drama, visual arts, film, and other creative expressions. As part of the municipality's cultural work, KULAN (culture in school) is also run, an initiative that strengthens children and young people's access to culture by integrating aesthetic learning processes into education and activities. Through collaboration between schools, the cultural life, and other actors, creative learning environments are created where art and culture are used as tools for learning, participation, and personal development. Here, the joy of creation, learning, and community meet – and we are a natural part of the municipality's cultural life.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who have:

• A university degree in an artistic, pedagogical, or culture-oriented field, or alternatively other relevant education or experience assessed as equivalent.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience from a cultural school or other activity within the cultural sector.
• Leadership experience with responsibility for personnel and budget.
• Experience in public or politically governed organizations.

Other requirements:

• Class B driver's license.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Goal- and result-oriented.
• Collaborative skills.
• Leadership skills.
• Structured.
