We are now looking for a Data Scientist for an exciting assignment in Uppsala where you will work at the intersection of data science, bioinformatics, and advanced proteomics.

About the assignment

You will become part of a cross-functional team with competencies in R&D, bioinformatics, software development, and commercial functions. The assignment focuses on developing and improving solutions related to proteomics data, with a particular focus on integrating data from mass spectrometry (MS) and Olink technology.

The goal is to enable deeper biological insights and create scalable, user-friendly solutions for both internal and external users.

In the role of Data Scientist, you will hold a central position where you drive the work of combining, analyzing, and visualizing complex biological data.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategies for integrating proteomics data, particularly from mass spectrometry (MS) and other relevant platforms
  • Design and conduct analyses that demonstrate the value of combining different data sources and technologies
  • Generate biological insights within areas such as biomarker identification, pathway analysis, and predictive modeling
  • Create scientific material such as case studies, white papers, and data stories
  • Define requirements and use cases for how data can be integrated into analysis platforms
  • Collaborate with development teams to build scalable and sustainable solutions
  • Responsible for data management including data ingestion, transformation, and harmonization
  • Develop analysis and visualization workflows (e.g., PCA, clustering, differential expression, and stratification)
  • Ensure quality, performance, and user experience through testing and feedback
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that solutions meet both customer and research needs

This is a consulting assignment via Adecco starting June 29, 2026, and running until December 31, 2026. The timeframe is currently fixed, but there is a possibility that the assignment may be extended.

  • Experience in analyzing high-dimensional data (e.g., omics data)
  • Strong understanding of proteomics or mass spectrometry-based analysis
  • Good knowledge of Python and/or R

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-omics or working with multiple data platforms
  • Experience in biomarker research or translational research
  • Experience in developing analysis tools or customer-facing software solutions
