As a Specialist Nursing Assistant in our organization, you will have the opportunity to utilize your specialist competence to create value for our customers and contribute to the development of the operations by providing ideas for improvements. You have a key role in the work group for our annual development work within the Star Certification model.

Your role with us

In addition to the regular assistant nurse duties, your role as a Specialist Nursing Assistant includes mentoring and guiding your colleagues in their daily work within your specialty. You are part of the work team and perform all common care and nursing tasks, but also have some administrative time in your position. You are also responsible for strengthening knowledge and quality in nursing care by providing support and supervision, both individually and in groups.

The job involves keeping up to date with evidence-based knowledge, taking initiative, and sharing it with the work group. You are offered varied work with nursing interventions, activities, and delegated tasks from nurses and rehabilitation staff.

You are responsible for BPSD registrations, SveDem registrations, and the annual planning for this within your work team. You also plan for the execution of the Dementia Checklist. You lead by example and inspire your colleagues to improved quality for the customer and professional interaction. You easily observe customers' needs, translate them into practical action, and suggest measures to reduce symptoms.

You are part of the network for Specialist Nursing Assistants in the Care Administration and collaborate with the Star Certified Instructor at Åhaga. You can supervise and observe at other workplaces if needed.

Please note that general public transport to and from Åhaga is limited during early morning and late evening hours. If you live outside the immediate area, you need to ensure that you can get to work without relying on local public transport.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who have a nursing assistant education with a specialization in elderly health and illness, palliative care, acute care, psychiatry, or dementia. You need to have experience working with people with dementia. Experience in mentoring and education is an advantage. We would like you to have experience with the BPSD assessment tool.

Since communication and documentation are part of your work, you need good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You are computer literate and handle IT-based systems.

We are looking for you who promote a good work environment and find solutions in everyday life. You motivate and inspire, and have a professional interaction with everyone you meet in your work. Furthermore, you have the ability to independently plan and structure work while respecting decisions made. We want you to be careful, engaged, and responsible in the work you perform. The position requires that you are pedagogical, have good collaboration skills, and easily create trust and good relationships.

Åhaga is a care and nursing home with 29 places, of which 19 places are dementia-oriented. We work with great professional pride and professional interaction. Our goal is that all our customers feel safe and satisfied. We continuously work to develop the operations, among other things through annual development work where employee participation is important and takes place through created work groups.

The Care Administration's operations are directed towards older people and those who need functional support, as well as people who need home healthcare. The operations are functionally divided into four areas: support in ordinary housing, support in care and nursing homes, health and medical care, and functional support. The administration also includes the authority unit, the national gymnasium, and the assistive technology center in Eastern Skåne.
