Södra Wood is Södra's business area for sawn timber and processing of forest raw materials. Here we combine industrial development with long-term responsibility for the environment and sustainability. We are now looking for our new Environmental Specialist who wants to take a key role in our operational and strategic environmental work and contribute to developing an efficient business management system with sustainability in focus.

In the role of Environmental Specialist, you work both operationally and strategically with our environmental and energy work. You are an important support to the organization and ensure that we reach our goals and meet requirements.

Your assignment includes among other things:

• Ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and certifications (ISO 14001, PEFC/FSC)
• Developing, managing, and following up on the business management system (BMS)
• Following up on environmental and energy goals and driving systematic improvement work
• Coordinating energy mapping and working with analysis of environmental and energy data
• Planning and participating in internal and external audits as well as supervisory visits
• Being responsible for contact with authorities in the environmental field
• Handling issues related to chemicals and waste
• Preparing decision and budget support materials within the area of responsibility
• Actively contributing to local management work

You work close to the operations and move between the office and production to create understanding, ensure quality, and drive development.

The position is a permanent full-time employment, supporting our facility in Unnefors and the processing units in Åstorp, Vaggeryd, and Klevshult. Travel is included but there are few overnight stays.

We are looking for you who want to combine a strategic holistic perspective with a business-oriented way of working.

To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

• A university degree in the environmental field or equivalent experience
• Good knowledge of environmental work, environmental legislation, and authority requirements
• Experience with ISO 14001 and preferably PEFC/FSC
• Experience in working with and developing business management systems
• Ability to drive and develop improvement work

It is an advantage if you have experience from an industrial or production environment and have worked as an internal auditor.
