Forest Machine Operator
About the role
Working as a forest machine operator at Sveaskog in the Central Sweden region means having a fun and responsible job alongside skilled and driven colleagues. You will work towards goals regarding quality, follow-up, production, environment, and nature conservation. You will work in a local team where communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing are key words.
We are looking for someone who is driven in their work and has a genuine interest in machines and their maintenance. Quality in the work performed is of great importance. You will be part of an independent team consisting of three machine operators working in shifts, where your role is to operate forest machines in regeneration felling and thinning. The position includes areas of responsibility that can be adapted to some extent based on your competencies and strengths. Examples of responsibilities may include machine maintenance, final reports, economics, or debarking, etc. You will have local contact with haulage companies, machine workshops, forestry planners with area responsibility, and road contractors.
The machine team operates in the production area of Ljusdal.
Preferred place of residence: Ljusdal, Färila, Los, Kårböle, Ramsjö, Järvsö.
About you
You have a secondary education in forestry or equivalent knowledge. Experience in operating machinery is a requirement. For increased flexibility within the team, it is an advantage if you are proficient in both forwarders and harvesters, but this is not a requirement. A large part of the work is digital, making data knowledge an important part of the job. A Category B driver's license is required.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are receptive, meticulous, responsible, and have an easy time collaborating, both within and outside the work team.
What we offer you
Working at Sveaskog means having great freedom while being expected to take responsibility, show courage, and be curious. It is everyone's task to take responsibility for their own and the company's development, and to be a team player and a good colleague. We call this active employee engagement. We offer you a workplace characterized by a desire for you to succeed, where equality and working environment are high on the agenda.
