Do you want to work as a Project Manager and have the opportunity to lead some of Sweden's most complex and socially significant real estate projects?

About the role

As a Project Manager at Specialfastigheter, you will have the opportunity to lead complex and socially significant construction and real estate projects in a business where safety, quality, and long-term sustainability are in focus. You have an overarching role in the projects and are responsible for driving them from early stages to final delivery.

Your first assignment will be to drive the continued development of Hallanstalten in Södertälje. Some parts of the development plan are in production, while large parts are in an early stage. Your task will be to hold together and lead the development as a whole.

You will become part of the Project Development Department, a business with approximately 60 employees. The department is organized into five project areas and a staff function. The position belongs to the project area Prison Service North (KV Norr), where you will become part of a team of 11 employees and report to the Project Area Manager.

As a Project Manager, you act as the link between the business, customers, contractors, and the project organization. You are responsible for ensuring that projects are carried out according to set goals, schedules, and budgets while ensuring high quality and efficient resource utilization. The role involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and requires clear leadership at all stages of the projects.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Plan and initiate projects by defining goals, resources, and timeframes, and creating project plans.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams and coordinate contractors and other external parties.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure that projects are delivered according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Be responsible for dialogue and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, decisions, and results to relevant parties.
  • Ensure that projects meet technical, legal, occupational health and safety, and security-related requirements.
  • Be responsible for the project's economy through cost calculations, budget work, and financial follow-up.
  • Identify and handle risks and ensure efficient use of the project's resources.
  • Create conditions for a well-functioning collaboration within the project organization and contribute to achieving the project's goals.

About you

To be successful in the role, you have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Building Engineering, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in project management within the construction or real estate industry, for example as a foreman, site manager, project engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of project methodology, contract law, economics, and occupational health and safety.
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A good overall understanding of the construction and real estate industry as well as a genuine interest in real estate development and construction projects.
  • Very good communication skills in both speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have experience in independently driving projects in security-critical environments.

As a person, you are proactive, structured, and solution-oriented. You have an easy time prioritizing and making decisions even in complex situations. At the same time, you are receptive and empathetic, with the ability to create engagement and good collaborations in the team.
