PTP Psychologist for Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation

At Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation, we work in interdisciplinary teams. The teams consist of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, counselors, physicians, rehabilitation assistants, and nurses to varying extents. There are two psychologists in total at the unit.

The mandate of Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation includes assessment and rehabilitation of adults affected by neurological disease or stroke, and is part of the Neuro-Head-Neck Center at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå. The proximity to the University Hospital and other operations creates good opportunities for clinical placements and collaborations. We continuously work on development efforts to deliver high-quality evidence-based care to our patients and to continuously increase patient safety.

Job Responsibilities

As a PTP Psychologist with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better.

The main tasks involve neuropsychological assessments and rehabilitation following neurological disease or stroke. The work involves both teamwork and independent work. You will also have the opportunity to work with counseling, lead groups, and contribute to development work. We appreciate ideas for development proposals.

The duties follow the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on practical training for psychologists. Competence development occurs primarily through participation in the PTP program, self-study, and professional and methodological supervision.

You have a supervisor on site and a well-functioning work group. You participate in Region Västerbotten's PTP program with mandatory monthly half-day meetings held in Umeå. The meetings include theme days led by an experienced psychologist, study visits, or reviews of professional legal and ethical issues. In addition to competence development and quality assurance, you will have the opportunity to exchange experiences with other PTP psychologists in the county.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a completed psychology degree. It is desirable that you have experience and interest in neuropsychological assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation work as well as teamwork.

You are a secure and stable person with a professional attitude. You enjoy collaborating and being there for both colleagues and patients.

Employment Conditions

• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
