LetsGig AB is seeking an experienced Construction Manager within BAS Road/Road Maintenance for a long-term consulting assignment in Örebro County. The position is full-time and suits you if you have substantial experience in construction management within operational areas, road maintenance, field controls, contract follow-up, and technical coordination.
The role involves a combination of field work and office work. The work is primarily carried out within Örebro County, with connections to the operational areas of Arboga, Nora, Hallsberg, and Örebro. Normal working hours are during the day, but working hours may vary throughout the day depending on the needs of the operations and contractors.
The assignment is scheduled to start preliminarily on August 1, 2026, and will initially run until July 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension until July 31, 2031.
About the Role
As a Construction Manager, you work closely with project management, contractors, and other relevant parties. You follow up on road maintenance works before, during, and after implementation, ensuring that contracts are executed according to agreements, documents, requirements, regulations, and technical conditions.
Examples of tasks:
- Plan, follow up, and document BAS Road contracts.
- Perform delivery and site follow-up.
- Participate in kick-off meetings, construction meetings, financial meetings, and other relevant meetings.
- Monitor schedules, costs, quality, environment, working environment, and safety.
- Check traffic management plans, signage, and site layout.
- Handle customer cases and develop action proposals.
- Follow up on samples, mass handling, drainage works, and technical solutions.
- Review drawings, technical documents, and on-site execution.
- Keep a diary, document changes and additional works, as well as quantity deviations.
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, authorities, property owners, and other technical areas.
- Participate in inspections, surveys, and minute-taking.
- Provide technical advice within road maintenance.
Workplace and Scope
Scope: Full-time
Start: No later than August 1, 2026.
Location: Örebro County, primarily Arboga, Nora, Hallsberg, and Örebro.
Work mode: Combined field and office work.
Working hours: Normally daytime, but work may occur at other times of the day if needed.
Requirements
You must meet all the following requirements:
- At least 2 years of full-time work in the last 3 years as a Construction Manager within road maintenance with operational areas.
- Documented experience in handling excavation materials, such as ditch cleaning or other excavation.
- Knowledge of permitted deposits, landfills, and intermediate storage according to the Environmental Code, as well as relevant regulations, directives, and permits.
- Experience in mass handling related to soil sample analysis and contamination levels.
- Experience in drainage works, such as ditches, drains, road culverts, water flows, masses, and crushed materials.
- Experience in handling traffic damage in the road area.
- Experience with GPS tracking on vehicles.
- Good computer skills and experience working in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Very good Swedish in speech and writing.
- Valid Category B driver's license.
- Valid BAS-P/U training.
- Certification according to APV steps 2.1, 2.2, and 3.0 according to TDOK 2018:0371 or equivalent valid registration via ID06.
- Certification or training in competence for directing and leading winter road maintenance.
- Completed training in contract law including ABT06.
You must be able to verify education, certifications, and experience through CV, course certificates, certifications, ID06, or other documentation.
Required Equipment
You need to be able to work operationally in the field and have access to or be able to arrange the equipment required for the assignment, including:
- Car – Let’s Gig covers the standard mileage allowance.
- Own work laptop and phone.
- Measuring and inspection equipment, such as plane and slope laser, measuring wheel, tape measure, straightedge, shovel, spade, and flashlight.
- Equipment and software for surveying and inventory with positioning according to NVDB and SWEREF99.
- The vehicle must be able to be equipped with relevant traffic safety and field equipment, such as light bar, first aid kit, warning vests, alcohol interlock, fire extinguisher, and measuring equipment.
Merits
It is highly meritorious if you can use zero-emission vehicles throughout the assignment period.
It is also meritorious if you have previously worked in larger infrastructure organizations, with BAS Road, operational areas, maintenance contracts, authority requirements, AKV, NVDB, culvert inventory, drainage measures, guarantee works, and contract follow-up.
Profile
We are looking for someone who is independent, meticulous, and confident in the role of Construction Manager. You need to be able to move freely between the field, administration, technical follow-up, and dialogue with contractors, project managers, and external parties.
You are accustomed to making well-founded decisions, documenting correctly, and escalating financial or contractual issues to the right decision-making level. The role requires both technical sharpness and good communication skills.
