The Care and Social Services Department is responsible for the municipality's elderly and disability care, home healthcare services, and catering unit. The department employs over 1,000 staff members. The largest group consists of care personnel such as nursing assistants, personal assistants, nurses, and cooks. However, there are also many other professions within our operations. We are all key players, and our operations are characterized by employees who are engaged, responsible, and competent.

We are currently looking for hourly and summer substitutes for our operations in Sunnansjö and Grängesberg.

Important to know before you apply

We are primarily looking for individuals with experience or education within care and social services. The work is located in Sunnansjö and Grängesberg, which means you must be able to commute to the workplace independently. Public transportation is limited, so a B-driver's license and access to a personal car are required in most cases.

About the job

As a summer substitute, you will work within care and social services as a nursing assistant, nursing assistant (sköterska), or personal assistant, depending on the operation and your qualifications. The work involves providing support and care in a respectful, professional, and individualized manner based on the user's needs.

Duties may include personal care, support during meals, serving food and drinks according to the user's preferences, social support, and practical tasks in daily care work. For some assignments, health and medical care tasks may also occur, based on delegation and competence.

Personal care may involve help with hygiene, showering, toilet visits, and changing incontinence products. The work involves caring for both female and male users.

Working hours may be scheduled during the day, evening, weekend, and night. The work is carried out in close cooperation with colleagues and users and can be physically demanding. To perform the work as an hourly substitute, you need to feel confident in performing all tasks included in the current role within care and social services.

Terms of employment

We offer hourly and holiday substitute positions with intermittent employment.

The position starts upon agreement. Salary is set according to current salary bands and based on education, experience, and competence.

We have the possibility to guarantee at least 75% employment, in cases where a schedule can be offered.

Salary

We apply individual salary setting based on competence, experience, and the content of the assignment according to the current collective agreement within the Kommunal bargaining area. Salary range:

  • Nursing assistant/personal assistant with relevant education: 25,798–32,000 SEK/month
  • Nursing assistant/personal assistant without relevant education: 23,638–28,500 SEK/month

Hourly wage is calculated based on the corresponding monthly salary.

Requirements

To work with us, you must meet the following requirements.

We are looking for you who

  • Are at least 18 years old.
  • Master Swedish in speech and writing so that you can communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, as well as document according to operational requirements.
  • Have good computer and mobile phone skills, as we use digital tools in daily work.
  • Can perform all tasks included in the current role within care and social services based on the user's needs and conditions.
  • Can commute to workplaces in Sunnansjö and Grängesberg.

Personal qualities

To thrive in the role, you need to be responsible and have a respectful attitude when meeting users, relatives, and colleagues. You have good teamwork skills, can work independently, and are sensitive to others' needs. You are flexible and have the ability to handle a job where conditions and pace may vary.

Operation-specific requirements

  • BankID (required for personal assistance).
  • B-driver's license (required within home care services and some other operations where work takes place throughout the municipality).
  • Access to a personal car or other means to independently commute to the workplace in Sunnansjö or Grängesberg.

Merits

  • Nursing assistant education.
  • Education within care, social services, child and youth care, or other equivalent education/experience.
  • Previous experience in care work, elderly care, or working with people with special needs.
  • Experience with health and medical care tasks, for example through delegation.
  • Experience with documentation within care and social services.

Other

For work with children and young people, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) is required according to Section 9. The extract will be requested if employment becomes relevant.
