RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you our next team leader? We are looking for you who want to contribute to the management, development, and administration of Växjö Municipality's streets and green areas. Here, anything is possible when we listen, collaborate, explore, create value, and improve the quality of life for our residents, businesses, and visitors.

The Machine Unit within the Operations and Administration Department is a new unit that staffs and is responsible for the machinery and vehicles that maintain all of the municipality's outdoor areas. The unit's team leader coordinates the needs of other units together with other team leaders in street and park operations. The staff of the unit consists of 22 machine operators who staff trucks, wheel loaders, tractors, tool carriers, and lawn mowers depending on the season. The team leader's task is also to ensure, together with the unit manager, that the entire heavy machinery fleet in the department maintains a good work environment and is equipped for the operations' needs through purchasing, service, and maintenance.

Within the unit, there is the Ekeberg administrative facility for storage and mass handling, as well as the Telestad landfill, where the team leader's assignment is to ensure daily operations, invoicing, and to be part of the planning for long-term needs for the municipal construction administration as a whole.

As a team leader, you are a key person in this important work. You plan, lead, and follow up on daily operations, develop, drive the operations towards set goals, and contribute to change work. You support the unit manager in everything related to economy, work environment, and staffing, and play an active role in the development of quality and environmental work. The work also includes developing the practical use of GIS and optimizing technical solutions. The team leader is responsible for producing planning materials and invoicing internal customers for daily and long-term needs.

You will have close collaboration with other team leaders within the department in order to coordinate resources, develop operations, and also the team leader's role and function. Together with your work team and in collaboration with other team leaders, you contribute to a well-maintained, attractive, and safer municipality for everyone.

On-call duty may occur in the future.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have relevant experience or education. You have professional experience suitable for leading operations and personnel within transport, logistics, or street and park operations. We would like you to have experience in transport coordination or team leadership.

You have previous leadership experience and are well acquainted with personnel issues. You are practical, but at the same time have good administrative skills and an understanding of the modern digital environment and its possibilities, such as GIS. You are a good problem solver with a financial mind and a fundamental sense of responsibility.

Your ability to be positive and energetic, together with your teamwork skills, makes you a good candidate for this assignment. We place great importance on personal suitability.

We also see that you have good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing.

Requirement: Category B Driver's License

Meritorious: Vocational competence for occupational permit (Traffic Manager) and Marking Officer work on roads
