Arla Foods is hiring for the Laboratory in Vimmerby

The Vimmerby powder plant is Arla's most modern milk powder plant, handling a large portion of Sweden's milk surplus. It takes 8 to 10 kilos of milk to produce one kilo of milk powder. The milk comes primarily from Arla farms in the region. In Vimmerby, whole milk and skimmed milk powder of various qualities are produced, mainly sold to other food manufacturers producing baked goods, baby food, dairy products, etc., around the world.

Permanent position as Senior Laboratory Technician

We are expanding our staffing at the Vimmerby laboratory. The position is full-time with weekend work every seventh week.

Main Responsibilities

Your main tasks will be to perform microbiological, chemical/physical, and sensory analyses according to the plant's control program. You will be responsible for reporting and compiling results in SAP and will contribute to our quality and improvement work at the plant.

You will participate in setting up new and modified existing analysis methods, as well as creating new control programs. Instrument technology and calibrations are an important part of the work, where we currently mainly work with B3 and Lactoscopes.

We also work on adjusting operational routines for the laboratory, where you will be a key resource. Everyone at the laboratory maintains close contact and collaborates with production staff regarding, among other things, analysis results and calibrations.

Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities

Requirements include a suitable background in microbiological, chemical, or technical higher education, preferably combined with a strong interest in microbiology. Experience from laboratory work in the dairy or food industry is an advantage. You must have good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you can read or understand Danish.

You work equally well in a team as independently and actively contribute to creating good relationships and a positive work climate.
