We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. Here, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community with your colleagues. We welcome your application!
Are you looking for a modern and flexible job where you get both freedom, security, and the opportunity to use your full competence in your daily work? Then you might be the right person for us. The Department of Academic Home Care is expanding, and we now need more colleagues to our unit.
The Department of Academic Home Care provides acute specialist care – in the patient's home. Instead of the patient being admitted to the hospital, you and your colleagues go to the patient's home to perform the care that is usually done in inpatient wards. You build relationships, see the big picture, and make a real difference for the patient. This form of care has been applied in several places around Sweden for a few years now and shows very high patient satisfaction and patient participation.
Patient visits occur based on need and diagnosis, usually one to three times per day. The work is led by a team center together with ambulatory teams that plan and prioritize both physical and digital visits. The ambulatory team with a nurse consists of two people, and patient meetings take place physically at home and digitally via video calls with the team center's nurse and the responsible physician.
As an ambulatory nurse at the Department of Academic Home Care, you will be responsible for the care of patients in their home environment. During home visits, tasks such as blood sampling, IV antibiotics, injections, and fluid therapy may be performed. Initially, you will work with standard nursing tasks during home visits, and based on experience, also in combination with responsibility for the team center. There is always a responsible physician at the hospital who, in close collaboration with the nurse at the team center, plans the patient's care.
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in this form of care. Experience from inpatient care and/or home healthcare is meritorious.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
We appreciate that you work according to a clear process, organize and plan your work well, complete what has been started, and meet deadlines. That you are secure in uncertain situations, stand up for your own opinions, have the courage to speak up, and the ability to separate facts from personal matters. That you adapt and find win-win solutions through an ego-free focus on the common goal, and that you find quick solutions to emerging problems. You should be flexible in your thinking, solution-oriented, and enjoy the development and digitalization of healthcare.
We offer a permanent full-time position, with start date according to agreement. Probationary period may apply. The working hours are initially scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends, but with full-scale operations, night shifts may also become available after agreement. Employment is ongoing.
