The Care Administration works according to the core values that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are activities for individuals with intellectual disabilities (IFO), support and service for people with disabilities (LSS), social psychiatry, healthcare, home care, and special housing. Approximately 900 employees work here, available around the clock for our target groups.
Municipal Rehabilitation works with the entire municipality as its field of operation. We are responsible for patients in ordinary housing, special housing, short-term care, LSS, and social psychiatry. The unit includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, and MAR (Medical Rehabilitation Assistants). We are a team that gets along very well, which is often reflected in our daily work. As a new employee, you will participate in our introduction program and receive mentoring to ensure you get the best possible start.

As a physiotherapist at Avesta Municipality, you play a vital role in creating security, independence, and quality of life for people in their daily lives. You work with rehabilitation in ordinary housing, home healthcare, care and nursing homes, short-term care focused on elderly care, LSS, and social psychiatry. Here you have great freedom to plan and structure your workday yourself, while maintaining close collaboration with occupational therapists and other colleagues. We always offer opportunities for dialogue, support, and joint reflections when needed.
Your tasks are varied, independent, and meaningful. You work to strengthen the individual's mobility, independence, and ability to live an active life based on their own prerequisites. The role includes, among other things:
The position is primarily directed towards ordinary housing and/or special housing, but if you are interested in LSS/social psychiatry, there is an opportunity to work in this area as well.
You collaborate daily with occupational therapists, nurses, and nursing staff. Together, you create the conditions for secure and person-centered care where the individual's needs are always the focus.
Documentation is done in Pulsen Combine. You are based at our premises on Skogsgläntan in Skogsbo, but you work throughout Avesta Municipality, which provides a varied and dynamic workday.
As a physiotherapist, you also contribute to ensuring that care and nursing staff have a secure and sustainable work environment. We provide training in transfer techniques based on Modern Work Technology's transfer concept. Those who have not yet completed the instructor training will be offered the opportunity to do so.
We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist or who are currently studying the final year of such a program.
It is meritorious if you have experience working as a physiotherapist, preferably in rehabilitation within municipal healthcare. If you have instructor training in transfers, this is also meritorious.
You must be able to work independently but also have the ability to collaborate with other colleagues around the patient. You should adapt easily to new tasks. We are looking for someone with interest, willingness, and ability to help others, who communicates clearly.
Since a large part of your tasks involves communicating with various parties and working with documentation, good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required.
Basic computer skills to document and handle different systems are also a requirement. Experience with the Pulsen Combine system is meritorious.
You will be driving a car in this position, so a valid B-driver's license is a requirement.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date according to agreement.
