The Community Planning Administration offers creative dialogue, a fast pace, solution-oriented working methods, and gives you the opportunity to drive and participate in changing community planning processes. We are a collaborative administration between Hällefors, Lindesberg, Ljusnarsberg, and Nora municipalities, with a broad mandate within the municipalities' community planning processes.
The administration consists of two main areas of operation: technical operations, and building and environment.
The Roads and Traffic Unit is part of the Technical Operations and is responsible for the municipalities' roads, streets, as well as pedestrian and bicycle paths. This is a broad mandate covering approximately 550 km of roads, around 15,000 lighting points, and 80 bridges. Here, approximately 18 employees with various competencies within traffic, planning, operations, and administration work together. Together, we work to create safe, functional, and well-maintained traffic environments for the municipalities' residents, year-round.
1 position(s).
As a Traffic Engineer at the Roads and Traffic Unit, you will become an important part of the work to develop the municipalities' traffic environments. You will work both strategically and operationally with issues concerning traffic, streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as the public environment.
In the role, you are responsible for planning, investigating, and developing traffic and street environments with a focus on traffic safety, accessibility, and sustainable solutions. You work with traffic investigations and prepare the basis for local traffic regulations while contributing traffic expertise to detailed plans and development projects. You follow up on and plan measures within the area of operation and handle traffic cases, comments, and citizen proposals.
You have many contact surfaces and collaborate with contractors, consultants, authorities, residents, and other actors. In the role, you function as an expert in traffic issues and related legislation and are involved in the preparation of service opinions and other decision-making materials.
As a Traffic Engineer with us, you get a broad and developmental role with great opportunities to influence the municipalities' future traffic solutions. You work both as a client and an investigator and contribute to creating safe, functional, and attractive environments for residents and visitors.
We are looking for you who have an interest in societal development and want to help create sustainable and well-functioning traffic environments for the municipalities' residents.
You have a relevant university degree or Higher Education Diploma (YH) in community planning, traffic planning, or another area that the employer considers equivalent. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have a B driving license.
It is meritorious if you have experience of traffic planning, traffic safety work, or other operations related to traffic and street environments. Experience from municipal operations and knowledge of GIS or other map-based systems are also meritorious.
To succeed in the role, you need to be able to drive your work independently and take responsibility for moving issues forward in a structured and careful manner. You have a solution-oriented approach, good collaboration skills, and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces. Since you will collaborate with both residents and businesses as well as politicians, authorities, and other actors, you need to be confident and professional in your communication and able to create trust in different contexts.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
