Occupational Therapist for Care and Nursing Home
We are looking for an engaged and competent occupational therapist who wants to make a difference in the daily lives of our residents. At the client's site, you will work in a meaningful environment where you contribute to improving the quality of life for people with somatic diseases and dementia. The assignment is for 3 days a week, over a period of 3 weeks.
About the Role
As an occupational therapist at the client's site, you will work closely with residents, relatives, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and rehabilitation. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing occupational therapy interventions tailored to each individual's needs and conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments and evaluations of residents' functional abilities.
- Plan, implement, and follow up on individual rehabilitation interventions.
- Prescribe and adapt assistive devices to increase independence and security.
- Perform cognitive and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare staff, doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists.
- Supervise and educate nursing staff in occupational therapy methods.
- Document interventions according to current guidelines and legislation.
- Participate in team conferences and care planning.
Qualifications
- Licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with the elderly, those with somatic illnesses, and/or dementia patients is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of assistive device prescription and cognitive assessment tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Good communication skills in Swedish, both verbal and written.
