Day Activity Coordinator for Dementia Care – Reimersholme, Stockholm

We are looking for an engaged employee for our day activity center for people with dementia. The position combines practical care work with coordinating responsibilities in the daily work of a small team.
Ava Day Activity is located on Reimersholme in Stockholm and is aimed at people with dementia who continue to live in their own homes. We offer a secure and meaningful activity where each participant receives support based on their needs, interests, and life experiences.
About the role
You work closely with the participants in the daily activity and take part in both care and activities.
At the same time, you have coordinating responsibilities in the daily work, where you help create structure, plan the day together with colleagues, and ensure that the activity runs smoothly during your shift.
The role does not involve personnel responsibility, and you work in close collaboration with colleagues and the activity manager.
Responsibilities
Practical care work:
- Support in daily life for participants (e.g., meals, hygiene, and activities)
- Create security, structure, and meaningful days
- Address anxiety and support individual needs
- Participate in social and stimulating activities
Coordinating tasks in daily work:
- Plan and structure the day together with colleagues
- Distribute and coordinate daily work in the work group
- Ensure that planned activities and routines are carried out
- Contribute to ensuring that the practical flow of the activity works during the day
- Document and follow up on interventions according to routine
- Contact relatives and partners as needed in daily work
- Contribute to the development of working methods together with the activity manager and team
We are looking for you who
- Have education in care and nursing, for example as an auxiliary nurse, mental health care assistant, nurse, or occupational therapist
- Experience working with people with dementia is meritorious, as is education in the field of dementia
- Are confident in practical care work and have a good approach to people
- Enjoy working closely with people in their daily lives
- Have the ability to create structure and take responsibility in daily work
- Can work independently and in close collaboration with others
- Have good Swedish skills in speech and writing
