Junior Marine Engineer – Wallenius Marine

About the Role

At Wallenius Marine, we are currently looking for two Junior Marine Engineer positions for the vessels Botnia Enabler and Thuleland. These roles are part of our operational unit, Wallenius SOL.

Botnia Enabler is the world's largest ice-class ConRo vessel, operating in Northern Europe and the Baltic Sea. Thuleland is a RoRo vessel primarily operating in the North Sea.

The role of Junior Marine Engineer on board Botnia Enabler and Thuleland involves variety, problem-solving, and collaboration with your fellow engineers in the engine room. This role is perfect for you if you are relatively newly graduated or have relevant prior experience.

In this role, you will have varied tasks, including:

• Operations and monitoring
• Safety and documentation
• Maintenance and repair
• Technical support for other marine engineers on board

On board the vessels, we have a mixed nationality crew, with both Filipino and Swedish personnel working together.

What We Offer

You will work on a vessel with a friendly crew in a pleasant working environment. There are communal areas and a gym on board for the crew. The vessels operate on European routes with a predetermined schedule, resulting in many port calls and a high work pace.

Conditions

• The position is a permanent employment, starting with a standard probationary period.
• Contract length: Botnia Enabler approx. 6 weeks (1:1 system), Thuleland approx. 4 weeks (1:1 system).
• Start date by agreement, but preferably early/mid-August.

Requirements

Requirements for the role are:

• Qualification as a Junior Marine Engineer.
• Valid certificates and documents for the role in accordance with STCW Manila.
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

Since Botnia Enabler is powered by LNG fuel, prior experience with LNG vessels is considered an advantage.
