Description of duties

As a maintenance technician with us, the mission is clear: keep the systems running, optimized, and energy-efficient. You work independently at the facilities, but are part of a maintenance technician team where you jointly own the daily operation of the buildings' technical installations.

The overall building responsibility lies with our technical property managers, but building operation and maintenance are handled in close cooperation with you and your maintenance colleagues. Your focus is in the field and in the systems, with supervision, alarm management, optimization, and follow-up of contractors. We work in a property portfolio ranging from office spaces to ice rinks and swimming pools.

Your main responsibilities:

• Operation monitoring and alarm management via our superior control systems.
• Technical inspections, rounds, and preventive maintenance relevant to the building.
• Troubleshooting of technical installations within heating, ventilation, electricity, and control technology.
• Perform energy optimizations and participate in analysis of energy usage in the buildings.
• Repair of faults and ordering and follow-up of external contractors.
• Handle and answer technical questions from operations in our facilities in daily contact.
• Operation and process control of water treatment plants for pool and drinking water.
• Team meetings for the different buildings with a focus on operation and maintenance.
• Be involved or lead in the development of routines and risk analyses in various areas where we have a maintenance role.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have several years of documented and current experience in technical building operation. The work requires that you have a B driver's license. You also need to have good experience with digital support systems for operation monitoring, fault reporting, energy follow-up, and Microsoft 365. Post-secondary vocational education in property technology is considered an advantage.

You are service-oriented and have a professional and accommodating attitude in contact with operations, suppliers, and colleagues. You have a good ability to plan, structure, and prioritize your work, especially in a daily life where operation, maintenance, and urgent matters need to be handled in parallel. With your problem-solving analytical skills, you troubleshoot technical problems in a systematic way, analyze causes, and implement sustainable solutions to ensure stable and efficient operation.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
