Your commitment will make a difference.

Do you find it exciting and development-oriented to work in an environment where a lot is happening? Do you want to be part of a department where you have the opportunity to learn new tasks and where the focus is on finding possible solutions rather than problems? Then the role of Maintenance Mechanic might be right for you.

What we offer

At Volvo Cars Body Components (VCBC) in Olofström, we produce and deliver body components to Volvo's various facilities around the world. The main process at VCBC is sheet metal stamping. The Machine Maintenance Stamping Department at the Upper Factory consists of approximately 50 employees whose main tasks involve performing preventive and emergency maintenance on our press line. We are now looking for a mechanic to fill a vacant position on our 2-shift rotation.

What you will do

As a mechanic, your primary responsibility is to ensure the operational reliability of the presses and associated mechanized equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. The role also includes analyzing technical disruptions, participating in continuous improvement work, and carrying out modification projects. The work is performed in close cooperation with the customer (production) and several internal networks within the area.

You and your skills

To thrive in this role, you have a genuine interest in technology and see solutions rather than problems in challenging situations. You are quality-conscious and interested in improvement work. You enjoy dynamic environments and can easily adapt planned work when unforeseen events occur. You like to stay updated and develop yourself, but equally important to you is sharing your newly acquired knowledge with others. As a person, you take responsibility, get things done, are proactive, and maintain a focus on quality in your work. You enjoy collaborating with others and build long-term relationships by showing trust, respect, and confidence in your colleagues. At Volvo, we work in teams and build our strength and success on solving problems together as a group.

We prefer that you have a high school education or equivalent with a focus on industrial technology, automotive technology, or similar. Additional qualifications for the role include:

  • Experience from work in production and/or maintenance - mechanics.
  • General IT skills.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
