We are currently looking for a Nature Conservation Specialist for our Umeå office. Do you want to work in a varied role with many contact points, where your days are spent both in the forest and in the office? Do you have knowledge regarding nature, environment, and biodiversity issues?

At SCA, you have the opportunity to make a real difference. With the power of the forest, we contribute to a sustainable future and help our customers around the world reduce their fossil footprint. If you want to develop and think new thoughts, you will thrive with us, as we give everyone the opportunity to reach their full potential. We know that it is the people who make the success!

We warmly welcome your application!

Your Next Challenge

In the role of Nature Conservation Specialist, you are responsible for managing SCA's forests for long-term and sustainable forestry with regard to the environment and biodiversity. To contribute to SCA's development, you collaborate and communicate with authorities, nature conservation organizations, and internally within the company so that we can become better together. You are a key person in the work of both supplying our industries with raw materials and preserving and developing our highest nature values in SCA's own holdings.

You are part of a group of nature conservation specialists and management responsible for staff, where you, through support and training to the rest of the organization within SCA Skog, directly contribute to us reaching set goals regarding sustainability, nature conservation, and harvesting opportunities. You also work in close cooperation with area planning on nature conservation issues.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who have a great interest in nature conservation and feel engaged with nature conservation issues as well as forestry's opportunities to contribute to sustainable development. In the role, you will collaborate with many contact points, both within and outside the organization, where your role involves coaching and training employees in the area.

We therefore place great importance on your personal qualities, such as the ability to communicate, collaborate, and through structure engage yourself and work with several different issues. To thrive in the role, we see that you:

  • Have an academic education as a biologist or a forestry education
  • Have a few years of work experience in forestry work or nature conservation issues
  • Have a B driver's license
  • Master Swedish as the language is used in daily work

Our core values – responsibility, excellence, and respect – are the foundation for everything we do at SCA. Therefore, it is important that your values align with them.

What Do We Offer You?

With us, you get great opportunities to grow and develop. We encourage competence development, taking responsibility, and realizing your ideas. At SCA, we care about each other and offer an open, supportive work climate. We also understand the importance of a sustainable working life.

As an employee with us, you will work with the very latest technology and be part of the transition to a sustainable society. Our forests and the products we put on the market contribute with a climate benefit greater than the emissions from all passenger cars in Sweden during one year. We take care of every part of the trees we harvest and produce products from the forest that contribute to counteracting climate change. Making a real difference gives the work an extra dimension.

The position is a permanent employment with a start date as agreed. Location Umeå, but it is possible to work from other offices in the business area, e.g., Dorotea, Vilhelmina, or Åsele. Travel within the role occurs, and a car is provided by SCA.
