Wallenberg Initiatives in Forest Research (WIFORCE) is Sweden's largest research program in forest management and forest genetics, with a budget of approximately 900 million SEK for the period 2019–2030, including co-financing. WIFORCE comprises a research program in Future Silviculture and a research program in Forest Biology and Biotechnology. WIFORCE also includes a doctoral school with 51 PhD students, a WIFORCE Arena, and a data support center.

About the job

As a coordinator, you will assist the WIFORCE program director in coordinating the research program. You will serve as the contact person within WIFORCE for companies, industry, and various authorities involved in the research program. A part of your role as coordinator will involve monitoring EU-related matters for the faculty's assignments.

Your background

We are looking for you who have a PhD and experience in supervising doctoral students, preferably both nationally and internationally. You should also have experience coordinating collaborative projects between universities and industry or authorities. As a coordinator, you enjoy collaborating within and outside the faculty and engaging colleagues in the activities to ensure a successful research program. Experience in project management and network building is meritorious. Proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English is required. Since the work involves many contacts both within and outside SLU, we place great emphasis on your personal qualities regarding communication, cooperation, initiative, and organizational skills.

We prefer that you work on-site to promote collaboration and a positive work environment, but there is an opportunity to work from home when the operations allow.

About us

The Faculty of Forest Sciences (S-Faculty) conducts education, research, environmental analysis, and collaboration within forest sciences. The faculty has 11 departments with approximately 700 employees and a turnover of 1.1 billion SEK.

At the faculty office, we work with overall planning, economic management, investigations, and follow-up within the faculty's various areas of activity. We also provide administrative support to the faculty management, the faculty board, and its committees and subcommittees.
