Are you ready for an important assignment? We are now recruiting staff to our diabetic foot care clinic!
The Role of Foot Care Specialist
The diabetic foot care clinic is part of Medical Healthcare Unit E at the Department of Medicine and Geriatrics. As a foot care specialist, you will provide foot care and wound care for diabetic patients. This also involves observing, assessing, prioritizing, documenting, and reporting changes in the patient's foot status.
You will participate in team-based patient care and, through dialogue with the patient and their relatives, provide support and guidance to enable optimal participation in care and treatment. The team consists of a diabetologist, diabetes nurse, dietitian, and chiropodist/podiatrist. As a podiatrist, you will also often collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and orthopedic technicians.
This is an independent role where you will have the opportunity to take significant personal responsibility, while working in a team with high competence across several other professions.
Your Future Workplace
The Department of Medicine and Geriatrics at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö is a developing organization where we care for patients in need of specialized medical and geriatric care. Since 2015, the department's management system has been certified according to ISO 9001:2008. We are all very proud that the department is ISO-certified! This simply means that we have order and structure in our operations. It creates good conditions for us working at the department to know what, when, and how we are expected to act. This contributes to quality-assuring our processes so that patients receive good and safe care.
Your Profile
You are a trained nursing assistant (undersköterska) and have completed a three-term foot specialist education. It is also desirable that you have a few years of experience in the profession. You are calm and accommodating in your manner and collaborate well with others. You should feel comfortable supervising students and speaking in front of groups.
We would appreciate it if you had good knowledge and experience regarding wounds and diabetes.
