Teacher of Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language with Library Connection – Järva Gymnasium
Järva Gymnasium is a modern, innovative, and inclusive upper secondary school. We are now looking for a teacher of Swedish and Swedish as a second language, where part of the role will be linked to the school library.
We have an ambitious goal to create a school where 100% of students graduate, are well-equipped for higher education, and prepared for the future, with the ability to explore and realize their own ambitions.
Järva stands out for its rich diversity, which we view as one of our most valuable assets. We are looking for a teacher who appreciates this diversity and sees it as a foundation for supporting each student's unique ability to dream, learn, develop, and grow without limitations. In line with our vision, we strive to offer a safe and welcoming environment where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their goals, thereby reaching their full potential.
Järva Gymnasium is owned by a foundation and is idealistic in nature. The foundation's purpose is to contribute to increased equality through education. The foundation is non-profit, politically neutral, and religiously independent.
Since we are still in a setup phase, you should be flexible and able to take on various roles at the school. You understand the importance of good relationships, high expectations, and collegial learning.
We are looking for
You who have the qualifications to teach Swedish and Swedish as a second language at the upper secondary level. You have a strong pedagogical understanding and great commitment. In and out of the classroom, you are a leader and role model who inspires learning and curiosity.
You value and constantly strive to create good relationships, with high expectations of yourself, your colleagues, and your students. Collegial learning is important to you, and you are both receptive to and provide feedback.
Your teaching is dynamic, well-planned, well-documented, and developmental, as well as aligned with the curriculum and its learning objectives. You adapt to the individual abilities of students and strive for more knowledge while exploring your own and your colleagues' teaching methods.
Goal fulfillment, result dialogues, result analyses, and working in a goal-oriented manner are central tools for you, and you see them as tools to support students in reaching knowledge goals and developing your own teaching.
You see collaboration as the key to success, both within and outside the school, and your goal is to support the well-being and development of students. Through your professionalism, stability, and leadership, you create a positive work environment with a collegial spirit that strengthens both you and your colleagues.
You enjoy being the responsible adult role model, working proactively, preventively, and developmentally. It is important to you to support students and build good relationships, and you also see their parents as resources to enrich school work with a focus on the student's well-being, goal fulfillment, social, and academic development.
We want our students to be able to reach all their goals and get the chance to move on to post-secondary education, and together we want to give them all the tools they need to get there.
Do you want to?
- Join a team of passionate educators, visionaries, and innovators, where we together shape a unique upper secondary school with a culture of openness, respect, and collegial learning?
- Challenge existing norms and actively contribute to breaking down categorizations and exclusion, with a commitment to engaging more deeply in students' development and opening up future opportunities beyond the traditional school system?
- Work in close collaboration with other educators, parents, and representatives from working life to create an integrated learning environment that prepares students for real-world challenges and opportunities?
- Create an environment where students feel that their voices are heard and their stories are an important part of our shared future?
- Explore new pedagogical methods, developing both in what you already do well and in what you have not yet tried?
- Create Sweden's most forward-looking upper secondary school, where innovation, entrepreneurship, and global citizenship are at the center of everything we do?
We would like you to
- Have a genuine interest in pedagogy, knowledge, and learning processes.
