Klosterkyrkegård needs to strengthen its staffing for the summer and is therefore looking for you who can work on an hourly basis as needed, during regular staff absence, or during periods of high workload. Do you have a strong interest in outdoor environment maintenance and want to contribute to keeping the cemetery beautiful and well-kept? Read on!

Eskilstuna Pastorate consists of four parishes, two preschools, funeral services, and support functions. Eskilstuna's funeral services are responsible for, among other things, burials, grave plot allocations, maintaining the grave book, crematorium, cemetery maintenance, grave care services, and some property maintenance.

You will be part of a small work team consisting of a supervisor, permanent and seasonal cemetery workers, and summer employees. The work team is diverse in terms of experience level and age. We laugh a lot together, work hard, and have good cohesion. Your main workplace will be at Klosterkyrkegård, within walking distance of central Eskilstuna. Service at other cemeteries and thus travel may occur within the entire pastorate.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of cemetery worker, your primary task is green space maintenance and upkeep of Klosterkyrkegård. This includes clearing weeds and loosening grave beds, mowing grass and hedges, edging, leaf blowing, and planting trees, bushes, and flowers. The Klosterkyrkegård work team is also responsible for external property maintenance around the pastorate's churches, parish halls, and other buildings in Eskilstuna.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
• Good physical condition as the work is physically demanding at times.
• Basic computer skills.
• Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles.

We prefer that you have upper secondary education. If you have current education or experience in gardening, green space maintenance, cemetery work, or similar work, it can be merit-based. Other qualifications that may be meritorious for the position include experience with green space machinery, alternatively a carrier/loader and tractor, as well as a brush cutter license or good experience with grass trimmers.

However, in this recruitment, we value your personal suitability and interest in the position higher than formal competencies.

We are looking for someone who is responsible and has a good ability to take initiative to drive the work forward. It is important that you have good teamwork skills and find it easy to work with others. Furthermore, you will meet many visitors at the cemeteries, which requires that you understand how to deliver high-quality service and a good reception. We would like you to share the values of the Church of Sweden.

We work outdoors in all weather conditions, so your workdays will consist of both sunshine and clouds as well as rain and wind. Work clothes and safety equipment are provided by the employer.
