- Carpenter at Stockholms Reparationsvarv AB
Carpenter at Stockholms Reparationsvarv AB
Stockholms Reparationsvarv ABStockholms län, Stockholm
Previous experience is desired
This is no ordinary carpentry position – at our shipyard, every day is different.
Do you want to work close to the ships, in a unique industrial environment right in central Stockholm?
Stockholms Reparationsvarv AB is the largest repair shipyard in Stockholm, offering service, maintenance, and conversions for both commercial and private vessels. We have a long history, world-class technical expertise, and a focus on continued development.
About the role
We are now looking for a carpenter who is motivated by variety, enjoys working with different materials and tasks, and appreciates that the work changes from day to day. You are responsible, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, deliver on time, and have a keen eye for quality and finish.
You will work with varied carpentry assignments, both onboard ships and in the shipyard’s own carpentry workshop – which you will also be responsible for. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Renovation, adaptation, and maintenance of ship interiors
- Assembly, disassembly, and various installation works
- Manufacturing and working with wood as well as other materials used in marine environments
- Work both in the workshop and onboard, depending on the ship and project
In addition to carpentry, you will assist the department with docking, scaffolding construction, and transportation within the shipyard area.
You work both independently and in a team, and have daily contact with other professional groups such as welders, electricians, and technicians. The work is directed by work orders/supervisors, but also requires creative problem-solving and the ability to "make it work" on site.
We are looking for someone who has
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a carpenter – preferably in shipyards, building services, or industrial environments
- Broad knowledge of carpentry – both rough and fine carpentry
- Experience working with different materials
- A high degree of independence and strong safety awareness – perhaps you have run your own business?
- Good teamwork skills – we are a team, not a one-man show
- Category B driver’s license (manual transmission)
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English
Advantageous qualifications
- Experience from ships, shipyards, or other marine environments
- Experience working independently on projects
- Spoken Polish
We offer
- Collective agreement, fitness allowance, and other benefits
- A secure, exciting, and unusual work environment – right among ships, water, and heavy industry
- Opportunities for development in a company with breadth, history, and confidence in the future
Other information
The position is security classified. You must be a Swedish citizen.
Security clearance and a certificate of good conduct are required in connection with the interview.
