We are looking for a personal assistant for our client, a 17-year-old girl with cerebral palsy. She is cheerful and playful, and we are looking for you who want to help create a meaningful everyday life for her.

About the position

The position is a hourly-based employment where we are looking for someone who can work during the summer, weeks 25–31. During the rest of the year, we appreciate that you are available to take sick leave shifts or similar assignments.

Working hours and schedule

Working hours vary depending on the day of the week. On weekends and holidays, shifts may be scheduled between e.g., 08:00–11:00, 08:00–19:00, 08:00–14:00, or 13:00–20:00. Night shifts with on-call sleeping duties may also occur. It is important that you are flexible and able to work all types of shifts.

Most of the time, we work in double assistance, but there are times when you will work alone. Before you start working independently, you will receive thorough on-the-job training to learn how to handle the necessary equipment and routines.

Requirements and prerequisites

You must have a valid driver's license and access to a car. This is a requirement as the client has an adapted car (automatic transmission) which you will drive her in to medical appointments, habilitation services, orthopedic technical clinics, the assistive devices center, and for leisure activities.

About the client

The client has significant mobility impairments and therefore needs several assistive devices, such as a ceiling lift, standing aids, specially adapted chairs, and various communication aids. You will receive a detailed introduction and on-the-job training in handling these.

In her leisure time, she enjoys going out for coffee, swimming, and taking various trips. Your role is to support her in the activities she enjoys, both at home and out in the community.
