We are looking for an engaged traffic planner who wants to help ensure good traffic flow for our passengers. As a traffic planner at SJ Stockholmståg, you will play a central role in developing and optimizing the production setup for commuter rail traffic.

As a traffic planner, you will work on creating, developing, and quality-assuring base rotations and timetables for commuter traffic. The role involves close collaboration with both clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

You will work both strategically and operationally with planning, analysis, and adjustments in preparation for new train plans and major traffic changes. The team you will join consists of 6 people working within traffic planning and tour optimization.

Your main responsibilities will primarily include:

• Planning and adjusting base rotations and train positions based on the client's requirements in IVU.
• Working with timetable transitions and long-term traffic changes.
• Conducting analyses and developing scenarios for new traffic setups.
• Handling holiday adjustments and special traffic, for example during Christmas and New Year.
• Working with track planning, switch plans, and turnaround lists.
• Collaborating with Trafikverket (Swedish Transport Administration) regarding train positions and capacity.
• Working with vehicle-related issues, such as ensuring correct balance between vehicle rotations and available vehicles.
• Responsible for long-term applications and supplementary applications in MPK/LPR.
• Maintaining planning calendars and supporting ongoing traffic planning.
• Participating in the development of processes and planning routines.

Expectations of the candidate

Requirements:

• University degree with a relevant focus (e.g., engineering, logistics, or optimization) or equivalent significant work experience.
• Good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel.
• Experience in traffic planning, production planning, or similar operations.
