We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager for a government agency within the transport sector. This is a consultancy assignment based in Stockholm. The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As Construction Manager for Vertical Shafts/Rock, you are responsible for construction management within rock and civil engineering contracts related to stations, tunnels, and vertical shafts. The role involves planning, preparing, and following up on contracts, ensuring that work is carried out according to contracts, requirements, schedules, quality, occupational health and safety, and security requirements. You work closely with project managers, design managers, specialists, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project execution.

Responsibilities

• Participate in design, technical solutions, method selection, production planning, logistics, and cost estimation.
• Participate in contractor procurement and preparation of tender documents.
• Monitor that contracts are executed according to contract documents and set goals.
• Be responsible for daily contact with contractors, providing decisions, making decisions, and preparing decision materials for efficient production.
• Monitor occupational health and safety according to the client's responsibility.
• Check and monitor the contractor's work regarding technology, economy, time, quality, environment, occupational health and safety, and security, and report within the area of responsibility.
• Identify problem areas and provide the project manager with data for preventive, corrective, and economic measures.
• Monitor and document variation orders and quantity deviations according to project routines.
• Collaborate with other construction managers and coordinate adjacent contracts.
• Coordinate risk work related to existing facilities, blasting near track areas, and complex vertical rock shafts.
• Participate in risk and forecasting work.
• Maintain the client's diary and review and sign the contractor's diary according to routine.
• Participate in construction, economic, design, and HSE meetings, as well as environmental and safety rounds as needed.
• Review the contractor's quality work, control plans, work preparation, and risk analyses.
• Monitor and participate in inspections and reviews.
• Contribute to good relationships with neighbors, property owners, the public, and other external stakeholders.
• Participate in internal meetings and events.
• Ensure that work is carried out according to current permits, licenses, and TA plans.

Requirements (OBS, mandatory)

• Hold at least a high school education.
• At least 12 years of work experience in underground production in tunnels or rock caverns within mining, rock, and/or civil engineering operations as a contractor.
• At least 10 years of work experience as a construction manager on the client side for underground production in tunnels or rock caverns within mining, rock, and/or civil engineering operations.
• At least 5 years of work experience from a role as construction manager, production manager/leader involving the production method of sunk shafts with drilling/blasting for the execution of vertical rock shafts with a shaft depth >25 m.
• At least 5 years of work experience from a role as construction manager, production manager/leader involving the production method of raise boring for the execution of vertical rock shafts.
• Documented education in contract law.
• Documented education in BAS P and BAS U.
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

Merits

• At least 5 years of experience in a role as construction manager, production manager/leader involving the production method of sunk shafts with drilling/blasting for the execution of vertical rock shafts with a shaft depth >25 m, as well as the production method of raise boring for the execution of vertical rock shafts and rock reinforcement and grouting of these in urban areas.
• At least 5 years of experience working with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) in operation.
• At least 5 years of experience working in English within mining, rock, and/or civil engineering operations.
